Paving the way from daytime television to bask in some box office ‘magic’ Crystal Hunt shines bright in the summer hit Magic Mike XXL.
The sequel to 2012’s Magic Mike, Magic Mike XXL has most of the fan favorites returning but also introduces a heavy female cast this go round. Hunt, widely known for her role on daytimes One Life to Live as Stacy Morasco and Guiding Light’s Lizzie Spaulding called the role of Lauren in Magic Mike XXL “…an honor…an empowering role and the comradery among the females on set was apparent”.
In addition to Hunt, and certainly making Magic Mike XXL a perfect girls’ night out movie, the cast also boasts strong talent such as Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell, Elizabeth Banks, Rhoda Griffis, Raeden Greer, Jane McNeil and Kimberly Drummond.
From Clearwater, Florida, Crystal Hunt starred in various commercials during her childhood before landing the role of Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light from 2003-2006. In 2005, the role garnered a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in Drama Series. In 2009 Hunt joined the cast of One Life to Live. She has also appeared in 2005’s The Derby Stallion and in Sydney White in 2007.
Hunt’s recent endeavor has her joining forces with another group of strong female actresses in a docu-series titled Queens of Drama which will air in the near future. The series stars and will follow former daytime and primetime actresses Hunt, Lindsay Hartley, Vanessa Marcil, Hunter Tylo and Chrystee Pharris as they work together to develop and produce a new series.
